The case for Q couldn't have been said better, even though the_rich_janitor's posts dealt with his views of IDCC.

The three key patents without which no flavor of CDMA can exist to which t_r_j refers re the spread spectrum, power control, and soft handoff patents. I would probably add a fourth, the pilot signal patent.

It's really that simple, at least from the royalty and licensing standpoint. The rest of the Q story of course involves ASICs manufacturing, a field in which it will lead, and the peripheral businesses like Eudora, Omnitracs, digital cinema, etc.

The market is missing the boat on the Q in a big way. This is an opportunity to re-live 1999 for those of you who missed it then.
