You can imagine my alarm. I don't think there is any question that there is a problem with the mb, powersupply, or whatever else GTW is using with the ghz t-bird. But this is a gtw problem. Why else would cpq make the following statement: Compaq Presario 7000Z, which utilizes the AMD Athlon 1GHz Athlon microprocessor (Thunderbird), is not impacted in any way by some of the recent technical problems which have been reported in our competitive products. All Compaq Presario desktops are rigorously tested and do not exhibit any of the anomalies that have been reported in some competitive systems. athome.compaq.com IMO, we're only adding to the problem by repeating news that has already been reported and addressed by AMD and GTW. -Scot
