Birim Hits More Gold at Tombe
MONTREAL, CANADA--Birim Goldfields Inc. reports results from the recently-completed 30 holes drilled on the Tombe-Parabu prospect in Ghana. Located on the 150 sq. km. Chenchu prospecting license, contained within the 7,000 sq. km. Bui reconnaissance license in west-central Ghana, the Tombe-Parabu prospect consists of a gold-in-soil anomaly measuring 6 km in length and reaches 350 m in width.

The initial phase of reverse circulation (RC) drilling consisted of 51 holes (2,040 m) drilled on 20 m centers on three lines running east-west and spaced 200 m apart (lines 25900N, 26100N and 26300N). Those holes were drilled at -45 degrees toward grid east to a depth of 40 m. Results from that initial round of drilling were reported on June 7.

This recently completed round of drilling consisted of 30 holes (1,500 m), 16 of which were drilled on the existing three lines and 14 drilled on two new lines: 25800N and 26000N. All of these 30 holes were drilled at -60 degrees west and to a depth of 50 m.

Representative results from the current drilling program are tabulated below:

``We believe that the Tombe-Parabu gold prospect has the potential to become a sizable project'', comments Denis Simoneau, President and CEO of Birim. ``A combination of considerably more RC drilling and oriented core drilling will enable us to get a better understanding of the shape of what now appears to be stockwork style mineralisation. It looks like the system is strong and persistent'', concludes Simoneau.

This drilling program is under the direct supervision of Mr. Victor King, a geologist and Chief Operating Officer of Birim. Samples were analysed by fire assay at the facilities of SGS Laboratories at Tarkwa. The Company has now spent US$2.7 million over the last 2 1/2 years in exploration work at Bui.

Birim Goldfields Inc. is a mining exploration firm whose mission is to explore and develop gold deposits in Ghana, West Africa. The Company currently has 23.9 million common shares outstanding and a working capital of $1.4 million.
