You make a good point. I was thinking of negative in this sense:

marked by features of hostility, withdrawal, or pessimism that hinder or oppose constructive treatment or development

One of the things I value about Steven's posts is that they are always constructive, something important to me. But I can see how a religions person might have been using the word, negative, in this sense:

marked by denial, prohibition, or refusal.

Maybe SI should include a link to a dictionary among its navigation tools. <g>
