Mark/Mang: Feels to me like this is more than just YHOO and a second tier analyst upgrade. There was a 22 million short position built up on PALM as of 6/25. I'd bet that a chunk of that short position is held by people who are just short, and not as part of a short PALM/long COMS arb position. And even if you have the arb position, why give up a chunk of your gain? At some point, you might get persuaded to take the bet and cover the PALM short side of the arb. In any event, this sure feels to me like some covering of that 22 million short position is going on today. David T.
