Thanks, Stephen. I'm inclined to think, however, that at this point improving V.90 and perpetuating copper POTS delivery of 'net services is an anachronism. Improvements would coincide with 2.5 and G3 wirelesses coming down the pike. DSL will continue to penetrate. And CableModem and alternatives looking like FTTH are still other options at our disposal. Let's not forget Satellites [and blimps - smile].

Attrition rates, with b-b up-take, will round off this story. Yes, in machines that were bought in the past twelve months, and for perhaps another two generations of pc's the V.90 will be standard carry, but planning on "improving it" at this stage of the game is like planning to open a buggy whip repair shop somtime off into the future.
