Apparently I am the only one who thinks the attachement of Muslim with fanatic extends the context. There is plenty of anti-American sentiment in the world by various groups and there is a large faction of American Muslims who suffer from terrorism at home whenever such extensions become popular. I personally have experience of bomb threats in America directed at American Muslims that come on the tail of this kind of generalization. This has happened on more than one occassion. Obviously it does not get in the mainstream press. The phrase would have been clear enough if it were simply "a fanatic on a jetski" and would not have cast aspersions on nearly one million innocent people. When I pointed this out I discovered that the prevailing thought is that we deserve it.
