Pete, re<<<<are sentiment stats always or sometimes relevant ? If sometimes relevant, when (ie. only at major market turns, also at turns
that are counter-trend rallies) ?

Don't know what Bob's thoughts are but for the counter-trend rally I think we are talking more in terms of short term overbought and oversold conditions. I would therefore think while broad sentiment measures might be interesting, I would tend to expect a short term run to a short term top might be more indicated by the daily P/C ratio.

I Would also think while we could have decent volume going into a final counter-trend top, it should not be at all powerful to the point that would suggest a sustained move to new highs but that's a guess. Anyway, you have strained my technical analysis abilities to where I have to rest for a year or so before I re-attempt such comments and make a potential fool of myself. Maybe on the next counter-trend rally I will try to figure out oscillators
BTW, I'm hoping for a good report out of ARBA tomorrow as it is the only individual B2B stock I still hold
