<<'the prevailing thought is that we deserve it' - do you consider yourself to be a muslim?>> There are two meanings for muslim, unfortunately. One is the CNN Geo-political catagorization. The other is the Quranic meaning. The meaning of Muslim in the Quran is simply "one who believes that there is no God but God." In that sense we consider all of the authenticated messengers and prophets from the Torah, the Bible, The Quran and thousands not mentioned in any scriptures to be Muslims. In other words being Arab or belonging to a particular geopolitical group has nothing to do with it. In fact, Arabs only make up 7% of the Muslims of the world. In the non-geopolitical sense I am a Muslim and a citizen of the Universe which my God created. In the practical sense I am also quite satisfied to be an American citizen.
