Thanks for the post lml. These guys getting together on one platform seems like it will take an act of God. There is no way Ford (who is in the strongest market position) is going to compromise their kick butt ORCL system with a rinky dink patch job from a start up like CMRC. Ford will either win out or walk. Either way it's a win win for them, they dont need the other two. GM is clearly out to lunch, both with the inferior products and their technology choices. GM management still thinks it's 1980. DC is just plain showing the nationalism flag. SAP is getting killed by ORCL so the two are teaming up for whatever reason.

Hey, does Lane's salary forfeiture contribute to LE's 2 Bil cost cutting program? ggg Overall, from the literature I have been able to piece together, it doesnt seem like Lanes departure is so bad after all. It will definitely streamline the decision making process (LE's way or no way) and was overall expected sometime soon. LE's internet strategy is clearly set in place and will be growing exponentially for quite some time to come. I see little short term consequences and for the long term, if ORCL start to flounder LE could search for another Lane. Afterall, it was LE that found Lane. But that need is highly doubtful. When the finicky retail crowd settles down, ORCL will continue it's ascent.
