No doubt there are 'lunatics, deviants, wastrels and vagabonds' in Cuba as in all places populated by our species, but i don't see the relation between those categories and the category satisfied to be cubanos. Most people don't want to move from where they grew up ... this is true everywhere, in places that would amaze you, some of which make Cuba look pretty good in comparison.

Yes, with my life experience and outlook i would look on subjugation under Castro's regime as a bit of a hellhole, as you clearly would ... no question that with the opportunity to do so i would have tried to convince Juan Miguel of the virtues of living elsewhere for a while ... but he chose otherwise - so be it, that is his right, and i'm not going to descend to calling him stupid names for it.

Even if a quarter of the population left, that still leaves near nine millions of cubanos ... in a hundred years there will be a Cuba still, the question is - Who controls it? ... the cubanos through participatory democracy, or just another little latino dictator under cover of his ism du jour.
