Another interpretation. After the French parliament sided with Inco over Falconbridge in New Caledonia, Falconbridge is hedging their position in the laterite game by taking a 'potential position' in Indonesia. In terms of risk I am not sure which is worse.
On a more interesting note, nickel inventories down around 17kt and Noranda up strongly today.
Chartered banks are writing off loans to developing countries every day, it is difficult to imagine CMR not receiving financing.
I prefer the saying, "all in good time".
I think a few weeks here or there won't matter.
