Progress At Diamond Properties

VANCOUVER, July 10 /CNW/ - Black Swan Resources Ltd. (``Black Swan'') is
pleased to report on recent progress and developments at its alluvial diamond
properties along the Paranaiba River in the Coromandel region of the State of
Minas Gerais, Brazil and on exploration of its kimberlite targets in the
Coromandel and Serra da Canastra Regions.

Installation of bulk sampling plant under way at Fazenda Marques Project

Black Swan's recently purchased 15 tph (60 tph head feed) Heavy Media
Separation (HMS) plant has now arrived on-site at the Fazenda Marques Project,
located on the Paranaiba River, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Personnel from Dowding
Reynard & Associates (DRA) of South Africa, who manufactured the plant, have
also arrived on-site and have commenced final construction of the facility. It
is expected to take three weeks to achieve commissioning of the plant.

Earthmoving and rehabilitation contract awarded

A contract to excavate a total of 200,000 cubic metres has been awarded
to Minas Engenharia, a civil engineering firm based in Belo Horizonte, Minas
Gerais. Minas Engenharia has undertaken contracts for existing iron ore
producers in the Minas Gerais region and has experience in road building and
dam construction. The contract term is for a total of six months and includes
the excavation of 7 trenches, 5 metres wide for a total length of 2.7
kilometres. It is estimated that a total of 26,000 cubic metres of basal
gravels will be processed from these trenches. Black Swan personnel will
supervise the excavations ensuring that all relevant geological information is
recorded. Equipment has been mobilised to the site and preparations to
excavate the first trench has commenced. This will ensure that there is
sufficient gravel material stockpiled and ready for processing once the plant
is commissioned.

Environmental permitting completed at Gamelas Project

Additional environmental permits needed for this project have now been
received. Preparations to re-start trial mining are in progress. Black Swan
has an option to acquire 51% of this project and expects soon to be in a
position to exercise this option.

Auger drilling program planned for upstream properties

Further upstream on the Paranaiba, the Company's 100% owned Estaca 1, 2
and 3 prospects are situated. In this region there exists extensive alluvial
flats represented by cut-off meander loops and outer meander terraces. Black
Swan plans to commence shortly a program of wide diameter auger drilling. This
program will outline prospective gravels in bedrock trap-sites and identify
sites for bulk sampling and trial mining. These locations, as well as other
preserved river meanders which are earmarked for future test-work, are
expected to provide further significant volumes of diamond-bearing basal
gravel for resource evaluation.

Kimberlite sampling program yields positive results

Elsewhere in the Coromandel region, small scale bulk sampling of gravels
overlying the Company's 100% owned Spider 1 Kimberlite will shortly be
undertaken for research purposes in order to verify indicator mineral
geochemistry results. Alluvial diamonds have already been reported a short
distance downstream but the quality, relative abundance and source of the
diamonds still requires confirmation.
In the Serra da Canastra Kimberlite Province, one of the Company's new
kimberlite indicator mineral anomalies has a pyrope garnet geochemical
signature similar to that of other diamond-bearing kimberlites known within
the field. Further sampling results are awaited to locate its source. This
has been estimated to be less than 3 km away on the basis of grain morphology.
Follow-up sampling is also underway at other indicator mineral anomalies close
to alluvial diamond workings both in the east and north-west sections of the
province.
