I'm glad there's no argument there, because that's the crux of the argument against inclusion of religion in schools. Nobody can agree on which religion, if any, is the right one to teach, and anything taught is going to violate somebody's right to train their children in the religious principles of their choice.

The obvious conclusion is that the teaching or sponsorship of religion is simply not an appropriate activity for the state.

I do think a number of parents would accept comparative religion classes in school. No all, of course, and not the most rabid, but many, if not most.

Teachers and school administrators don't worry about "most parents". They worry about the few individuals, the ones with small minds and big mouths, who make life difficult for everyone.
