Here's one for ya: You're always talking about how RAM latency is much more important than bandwidth. Well, what's the implication of using prefetching to hide latency? The biggest concern I've heard about prefetching is it can slow you down if you prefetch too much stuff you don't need. Well, with all the work intel has put into their prefetching compiler, maybe that's why they want all that high bandwidth memory on P4?
