Global Telecomunications Giant Doubles Order with COM DEV Wireless

Remaining Contract Value Increases to CDN $50 Million

RICHARDSON, TX, July 13 /CNW/ - COM DEV Wireless, one of the two major
operating divisions of Cambridge, Ontario based, COM DEV International Ltd.
(TSE:CDV), has received an order to double production of RF conditioning
systems for a major global wireless telecommunications company based in
Europe. The additional order will increase the estimated value of COM DEV's
contract for the remainder of 2000 and the following year to in excess of CDN
$50 million. The RF conditioning systems, which will be used in North American
wireless Base Stations, will be manufactured at COM DEV's Moncton, New
Brunswick facility in Canada. COM DEV Wireless manufactures wireless
infrastructure systems and subsystems used in microwave and radio frequency
systems primarily for major PCS wireless equipment vendors and full service
system integrators worldwide.
"Wireless phone and network suppliers around the world have come to
recognize the tremendous advantage in sourcing products from COM DEV," said
Roger Boivin, President of COM DEV Wireless. "Not only does COM DEV Wireless

products, efficiently manufactured to the highest quality in every corner of
the world. This allows our customers to cost-effectively stay at the forefront
of their competition."
COM DEV's customer is a leading supplier of mobile phones. In addition,
the Company supplies mobile, broadband and IP networks, related services and
multimedia terminals.
"Organizations that can quickly respond to significant production
increases are of great value to wireless suppliers," added Eric Cook, General
Manager of COM DEV's Moncton facility. "The additional capacity and improved
efficiencies put in place at all our manufacturing locations will allow the
Moncton facility to meet the demands of this contract. In addition, our
Suzhou, China facility is now in production and meeting additional
requirements in China."
Additional personnel and a second shift were recently added at the New
Brunswick facility to fulfill this order and other projected new contracts.
