Breakthrough In Beef Industry For Anitech

TORONTO, ONTARIO--Nilsson Bros. Inc will start a three month trial
of Anitech's DT-500 Data Collection System at its two XL Beef
plants. At the end of the trial, Nilsson Bros. will have the
option of purchasing Anitech's system. The costs of the trial are
being underwritten by the Canadian Cattle Identification Agency to
facilitate a new national program of electronic identification for
cattle. The DT-500 system will help beef packers meet the data
collection requirements associated with the cattle identification
program. A number of other beef packers in Canada and the United
States are considering Anitech's system.

Anitech's DT-500 system is a proprietary computer and software
system that helps meat packers keep detailed production records on
individual carcasses and respond to new global regulatory
requirements known as HACCP. Data is collected and collated in
real time and can be accessed through an internal network or the
Internet. Anitech also sells annual service agreements with the
DT-500 system. Anitech's DT-500 system is already well established
in the pork sector at plants owned by Maple Leaf Meats, Schneider
Meats, Weston Abattoir, and Best Brands. Last year, the Ontario
Pork Producers Marketing Board ordered Anitech's system for four
plants.

In addition to the livestock sector, Anitech is a leader in the
fast growing pet industry. Anitech's PetNet microchip ID system
for pets is distributed at 80% of all Canadian veterinary clinics.
Over 400,000 pets are microchipped and registered with PetNet.
Anitech also offers a PetNet Visa card in partnership with The
Royal Bank and Anitech will be launching an Internet e-commerce
portal for its growing pet database of pet owners in an alliance
with AOL Canada.
