Call Management Arrives for the Television: From InfoInterActive and Innovatia

IIA Technology to be Used in TV-based Services

BEDFORD, NS, July 13 /CNW/ - InfoInterActive Inc. (Nasdaq: IIAA, TSE:
IIA), the leading application service provider and Inventor of Internet call
management services, today announced it has entered into an agreement with
Innovatia Inc. to deliver call management technology for Innovatia's upcoming
suite of television-based services.
Innovatia is a leading e-business company providing a variety of advanced
solutions including an interactive television portal. This fall, Innovatia
plans to introduce network-based Caller ID on its interactive television
service (ITV), the first in a series of telephony services Innovatia will
offer in conjunction with InfoInterActive. With this service, interactive
television customers won't have to interrupt their activities to see who is
calling - the caller information is displayed in the ITV portal.
"This is another clear example of how converging services can provide
even greater convenience and control for customers," said Joe Mosher, general
manager of Innovatia's interactive television division. "By connecting the
television to the Internet, Interactive television users can visit an Internet
site without leaving their favourite television program. Now that same
capability will exist with t telephone services."
"Early in 2001, Innovatia plans to add more of InfoInterActive's IP-
based call management technology to its ITV service including call waiting,
caller log, the ability to forward calls selectively to voicemail, or play one
of a series of messages based on who is calling. Customers will also be able
to transfer an incoming call from a cellular phone to another telephone line
or a personal computer. Innovatia's ITV customers will be able to manage calls
as they choose, using a telephone, personal computer or television.
"Innovatia has a compelling service vision for the television appliance,
and we are delighted to be partnering with them," said Bill McMullin, CEO and
chairman of InfoInterActive. "We are committed to bringing real-time call
control to all relevant appliances - including PCs, web-enabled telephones,
interactive pagers, web appliances, web-enabled televisions, and more."
