Haim, either there's a recession coming, or oil prices are set to really go through the roof...soon OPEC spare capacity will be used up, and as i suspected, Saddam has decided to play a little game. since his govt. doesn't see any of Iraq's oil revenues, he has quietly begun to let production drop off...he's going to try to get the sanctions removed, with whatever it takes.
and i don't believe for a second that higher energy prices are not going to get transmitted to other prices. that's simply impossible. recent surveys show that companies are now more willing than at any other time in recent years to raise prices, and raise them by significant amounts at that.

of course, as i explained earlier, rising prices are one thing, inflation is quite another...especially in the hands of the well meaning , truthful, and efficient BLS...
