I doubt that it has the power of Microsoft, but one reason for that is that Microsoft has been judged to use its power illegally, making it more powerful than a company with the same attributes using its strength legally.

Must respectfully disagree, Merlin.

MSFT may have abused its power, but that power was not created by its alleged abuse. Its power came by creating the most powerful value chain very, very quickly and smartly. That value chain is made up of perhaps millions of general purpose and special purpose computer programs being written by tens of thousands of Microsoft trained technical persons whose very careers are built on that training. Add to that value chain INTC and its value chain.

Let's not lose our long-term perspective on Gorillaness when looking at MSFT.
