Official Payments jumps
--2:03 pm - By Michael Baron
Official Payments (OPAY: news, msgs) is advancing 2 7/32, or 45.5 percent, to 7 3/32 on volume of 1.56 million shares. Bruce Zanca, a
spokesman for the Stamford, Conn., provider of electronic payment services, said the company doesn't comment on the stock price. "We don't
comment on the price but I can tell you there's no specific news out today," Zanca said. The stock, which remains well off a Dec. 20th 52-week
high of 57 3/8, added almost 25 percent Wednesday. Official Payments' shares plummeted 70 percent April 20 after the company announced the
resignation of its chief financial officer as well as a first-quarter loss that was much wider than the loss in the year-earlier period. Zanca said Official
Payments is scheduled to report its second quarter results on July 25.
