You're absolutely right. We trust that when we are walking and put a foot down, our leg won't suddenly turn into spaghetti in mid air. We trust that if we don't see a wall right in front of us, there isn't one there. As we're driving down the road we trust that most of the other people on the road genuinely want to avoid colliding with our car. If we didn't, we couldn't survive on the roads.
