"Actually, in the end, all there is is trust." Not. In the end all there is on this Earth is doubt.

In the end all there is, is lack of trust. The low end of the gap between absolute trust and degree at which we are able to lend our trust marks the point at which we are willing to engage others. The trust gap measures our estimate of another person's credibility. It is a safety net that we may jump for when negotiations aren't looking favorable. When you cast doubt you also may drive a wedge between an otherwise firm reliance.

Mathew Shepard misjudged the level of trust to lend a couple of cowboys in Wyoming and he died of it.

Put your trust elsewhere.
