Essex Resource Corporation: Semhari East-1 Well Update

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--Essex Resource Corporation (the
"Company") is pleased to announce that flow testing of the Semhari
East-1 well is expected to commence shortly. The 4.5" liner will
be perforated between 3,723.5 and 3,738.5 metres to perform a
Drill Stem Test of the TAGI oil bearing sandstone.

ARCO Ghadames Inc. has completed all the recommended repairs and
upgrades to the drill rig and is now completing down-hole work in
preparation for the test.

The Semhari East-1 well is located 15 kilometres east of the
Semhari-1 discovery well on a large structure on the Hassi Bir
Rekaiz concession onshore Algeria. Hassi Bir Rekaiz is within the
prolific Ghadames Basin where new oil discoveries in excess of 4
billion barrels have recently been made by Agip,
Talisman/Burlington, Cepsa, BHP and Anadarko.
