Now that everyone has kissed and made up I have a few things I want to say about avoiding a similar circumstance in the future. Online communication is tough. Even with the use of <vbg>s and :-) faces and the such, there is still a lot of room for misinterpretation. Not everyone has the same sense of humor, or degree or PCness, so try to keep a thick skin about things. I know of a couple of situations where members of the thread have told me that a certain other member didn't like them, only to find out from the other person that that wasn't true. Preconceived notions like this make you respond in a way that you might not, if you didn't wrongfully think that they disliked you. People also have bads days. They make mistakes when they are losing money in the market, or the spouse just got on their case for something. I guess my biggest point is that if someone is bothering you tell them in a PM. Avoid taking it to the thread and creating conflicts. If you still can't resolve things, well, then as Jorjie said a few weeks ago, put them on ignore. I don't like having two threads to have to follow and I have told the G's that. (I can barely keep up with any one of them with all the other things like instant messenger, monitoring the market, trading the market, and oh yeah work.) I think most everyone will still post on both threads. There will be a lot of cross pollination and in time maybe the two will evolve again into one. For now though we don't need to shy away from our individual brand of humor, just have a thicker skin and work it out individually with the other person.
