I guess we have different interpetations of "proprietary".
I consider proprietary to mean exclusive IP of which certain functions cannot be performed without. Such as Q's IP for CDMA, GMST's IP for EPGs. The IP of the B2B companies are proprietary in such that each company has it's unique way of doing B2B but in the end they are all the same in such that they facilitate trade between commercial enterprises. Proprietary in it's broadest sense can be applied to almost any manufacturer since every manufacture does not produce the same goods in exactly the same way. My version of proprietary means only company X can do Y with it's IP and no one else unless they are licensed to do so.
What is your take as to "Proprietary"
