Bill: Well, COMS is already trading without PALM as COMSV, but the general investing public probably doesn't know that - just the pros, 3Com (both of whom I guess are buying), and the few educated ones who read the posts on this thread! I agree with you that 7/28 will see COMS pop, if it sticks around this $13-$14 level until then. Your observation about SGI is on point (though MIPSB has done better thus far), the same happened with both HWP and A. But why wait until 7/28? If you want to make this play, buy COMSV now, it'll turn into COMS at the opening on 7/28. As far as the final D-ratio is concerned, 3Com doesn't have a choice. They have to distribute 532 million PALM over the number of COMS outstanding as of the 7/11 close, so fractional shares can't be avoided. David T.
