JC,

Out of curiosity, have you ever used UNIX OS? IMO One of these days someone will write good front-end software for LINUX that will withstand patent infringement suits, and offer real competition to Windows. The fact that China has embraced the free LINUX may prove to be the catalyst for LINUX expansion.

I used UNIX for 15+ years and just loved it. Almost 20 years ago, when IBM first introduced the AT, they had a UNIX OS program you could buy for it, but it cost $1500. Then along came Bill... an ordinary guy???

After all, Gates basically stole Windows from Steve Jobs & Apple. The courts may have ruled in Gates favor, but the computer community considered it a bad ruling.

Often wonder why CPQ has never utilized the UNIX expertise they aquired when they bought Digital Equipment Corp. I guess it is just another example of poor management, like selling Alta Vista. Another reason CPQ lags the other PCmakers.

Merry

Disclosure: Long on MSFT.

No position or interest in RedHat or other LINUX-related companies, unless you consider SUNW.
