are you naive enough to believe Fidel Castro would not
give drugs to Elian?

I don't think he'd hesitate for a moment if he thought there was an advantage to be gained from it. I don't see where the advantage would be, since by the time the doctor was present the media no longer had access to Elian and anything he would say would hardly matter.

I don't doubt for a moment that Elian, if asked, would have said that he wanted to return to Miami. I don't doubt for a moment that Elian, if asked, would want to eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As others have pointed out, it is very easy to bribe a 6-year old, and difficult to explain to him that he would not receive the same kind of attention and favor once the show was over. 6 year olds are not in a position to make long-term decisions about their lives. That's why we let parents do it for them.

I am simply giving you my most plausible scenario.

I think you base your criteria for plausibility on the assumption that certain actors in the drama wear black hats, twirl their moustaches, answer to the name "Dick Dastardly", and can always be assumed to have done the most despicable thing imaginable.

Life isn't a cartoon.
