Asian wireless will be shaped by China. Two largest influences on China are Korea (technology) and Taiwan (manufacturing). Korea is 100% CDMA2000. They are the world leaders and will not give up that position and leverage by adopting WCDMA (no matter what the politics indicate). With every new Taiwanese QCOM license, more light is shed on the true picture. China is going to QCOM's standard. Everyone in Taiwan and Korea know it. Why do you think Taiwanese are scooping up manufacturing licenses? There may still be fans in the stadium, but the game is over, imo.
