Michael, I recall responding to you on this before. I thought I was pretty convincing then about how this makes no sense at all. Apparently I wasn't, so I'll try again.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but it was at least a few days and maybe a week or more between the time that the INS took Elian and the time the doctor entered the US. The relatives alleged that Elian was being drugged the very day that he was taken from them. Marisleysis kept saying that he looked drugged in the happy pictures.

If Elian were drugged on day 1, then someone at Wye already had access to drugs. If they had access to drugs already, why would they need to import them from Cuba by way of the doctor? If they didn't already have drugs at Wye, it makes no sense to start drugging the kid after he had already been there for a few days or a week and been the subject of many happy pictures.

Number 2 is the most likely scenario, IMO.
