They don't have 1.6m shares anymore. Luzco was careful to say that the numbers he was presenting were as of 6/30. I'm sure that they've sold more. They now have more than $2 billion in the bank, as of 6/30. Plus they have probably another half billion in stock that I'm sure they want to prune before the closing, so that they will have a better fix on what the actual value to Seagate shareholders will be when the proxy statements go out. They still had 1.38m shares of VECO too, down from something over 3 million, I think it was at its peak. Take a look at a comparative chart of VECO and SNDK. siliconinvestor.com Pretty similar. Wouldn't want to make too much of it, since the whole tech market went to hell in March, but nevertheless, it probably isn't just a coincidence. VECO has been outperforming in the past couple of weeks, I think Sandisk will start to play catchup now.
