ME SYMBOL: GDL MAY 14, 1997 Goodfellow Doubles Western Canada Facilities DELSON, QUEBEC--Goodfellow Inc. today announced the expansion of its Western Canada operations with the opening of two additional facilities. New distribution centres for flooring and related products have been opened in Edmonton and Winnipeg. Goodfellow has similar installations in Vancouver and Calgary. Goodfellow President, Richard Goodfellow, said the move is a reflection of the company's growth in specialty wood products. "Sales of our Bruce Hardwood and Goodfellow Floors have been steadily increasing along with our full selection of wood flooring finishes and other accessories. The addition of the new Edmonton and Winnipeg warehouses will provide instant just-in-time service to the retail floor covering trade." The company now employs a total of 25 employees at its Western Canadian facilities. Goodfellow Inc. is Canada's largest distributor of hardwood floor covering products and Eastern Canada's largest independent remanufacturer and distributor of lumber products. Company shares are listed on the Montreal Exchange under the symbol "GDL". -30-
