Re: "No company has ever done both successfully - not T, not IBM (Standard oil didn't have the latter problem). We shall see if Microsoft succeeds..."

Fair enough! Bear in mind (no pun) T, IBM, no one has ever had anything like the internet build-out going on. Hey no one hit over 70+ homers in a year until McGuire! are you going to tell him he will be unable to hit 75 because The Babe, Mantel, Musiel, Maris, no one has every done it?

"It just rallied from 78.75 to 79.125 quickly, but sellers took hold quickly enough for it to go back down to 78.75 "

Two reasons why I like this right now 1) MSFT hasn't reported earnings yet 2) MSFT hasn't announced a buy back -or anything for that matter! Have to wait for the CC. 3) We already know all of the negatives you mentioned what positives do we know about?

The unknown ALWAYS trumps The Street! If the SC takes the case it can take a year, if they send the case back to DC appellate then it can take longer in meantime MSFT making money to the tune of (?). The bears do not want to give up so easily, after all it's one of the few things they got going in this market so far!

P.S. We do have some positive knowns; pre-warning period is over with very few companies including MSFT not warning and earnings so far are very good! We got to hear from those server builders!!!
