OT: JCJ,

>>without worrying about disrupting your Win9x installation (which will disrupt itself in due time anyway)

How good it was to read that in your message. Win98 (IExplorer) crashes many times each day. My husband runs '95 and has very little trouble. I have trouble with Netscape too, which I have concluded is some conflict with the Win98 program. I am to the point that I just reboot my PC, being sure to first note exactly where I am when the problem occurs, only to save my place to continue on when we restart.

Most of my old computer chums are now gone from the area, either retired to the sunbelt or working on the West coast. I did recently meet a neighbor's son (who was just starting to work for AOL -- thought that was great!) and he offered to help me, via email, when I finally break down and install Linux. I use the PC so much now that the thought of it being out of service really creates anxiety that I know deep down is ridiculous.

You make me feel I should make the jump and forget all my worries.

Thanks,

Merry
