Good idea for a thread. Maybe it will spur someone into doing some estate tax planning. So few people do. And what a total shame.

The current law is so easily circumvented that it is basically useless. The $25,000,000 person will find a way to NOT pay one dime by using some sort of professional estate planning. The $3,000,000 widow who probably owns mostly farmland or such, and has few liquid assets, will pay dearly because no plan was in place. These people never ever dreamed they were rich and never thought about what they would owe the government upon death.

Thus the whole stupid thing just needs to be cancelled.
