Amplifier comfortable with fiscal Q2 estimate CAMARILLO, Calif., July 14 (Reuters) - California Amplifier Inc. <CAMP.O>, a maker of microwave amplifiers used mostly in in satellite and broadband applications, said on Friday it is "comfortable" with analysts earnings estimates for its fiscal second quarter ending in August. "There were some rumors that we would miss the quarter, but we are comfortable with the consensus EPS estimate of 16 cents a share and revenues of about $34 million," Michael Ferron, the Carmarillo, Calif.-based company's chief financial officer, said. Analysts surveyed by First Call/Thomson Financial expect the company to earn 16 cents a share in the current quarter. Ferron also dismissed as untrue market rumors that he was considering resigning from the CFO post. "There have been no fundamental changes in our business since our conference call after first quarter earnings release on June 8, 2000," Fred Sturm, the company's chief executive officer, said in a statement. For the fiscal first quarter ended May 27, California Amplifier reported net income of $2.1 million, or 15 cents a diluted share, on sales of $32.3 million.
