Thanks Auric for saying something one can talk about.
<<"we're in a hot sector" joke>> is not a joke.
Right now the market is appraising what the significance and importance of DSL will be. The world has never had this type of communication before. Its like when the telephone first emerged and many couldn't see its relevance. After all, telegrams were such a better organized form of communication -- who would want the disturbance of a phone call. The reality is however, and as Cramer says "He Loves his DSL". So does everyone else who finally is fortunate enough to get DSL.
DSL is not going away, any more than the telephone did after it was introduced. People will WANT DSL -- and the company that comes to be a leader in its implementation is going to be a big winner. If WSTL doesn't win, WSTL will merge with another company that does better. WSTL does have a shot at being the leader, though. You're not impressed by its performance, but I am. I'll be just as anxious as you to read the 10Q and I don't think they'll be "schmo earnings", but rather "rapidly accelerating earnings." We'll see.
DSL is here to stay. A whole new industry is developing before our eyes. It's actually very exciting.
Last earnings, the name of the game was "SELL ON A GAIN" there is no tomorrow. This time its "EARNINGS GROWTH" tomorrow will be better. Sure there may be some profit taking, but WSTL is going UP with DSL, not down.
