haqihana, you are so right. The door to opportunity is more than wide open right now. Anyone can step out and take advantage of opportunity if they so choose. Not doing so reminds me of the elephants who are tethered and won't move even though the tether isn't attached to anything. I, personally, think the only real useful purpose history affords is to (1) learn from it and (2) to enjoy the memories. What is most important is my conduct, thoughts and actions today and tomorrow. Quite a few blacks act out and become members of the general community and everyone soon forgets color and we all just work together. Unfortunately, there is still a long way to go for many. I pray they will change some values, morals and leaders so they may truly be set free. For example, they are true economic, and taken for granted, slaves of the democratic party. They will vote about 90-95% for the democratic candidate regardless of who he is or what he stands for. And, they are being conned. The real freedom is opportunity to choose. To choose our goals, our values, our way of life. And, to do it ourselves and not have some Reverend Jackson or Sharpton think for me.
