Email from Silicon saying it was responding to my request to change my password???

My understanding is that such an email is generated only when someone types in a username at siliconinvestor.com

The scenario for which that page is intended is when someone has forgotten their password. As David suggests, it's possible that someone tried to log in as you and clicked the link to go to that page.

I consider that scenario to be more likely than not, but by no means certain. Anyone can get to that page -- the link is on the login page.

When a username is typed there, an email is generated but it goes only to the email address that was used for registering that account. So, unless someone has access to your machine, they're not going to get the email and a chance to change your password.

I'll ask the programmers if my understanding of that page is correct, and make sure they haven't generated some of these emails on their own either for testing or sent them to all accounts that have been inactive or something.

I've been wondering about that because I also got one. It was for a friend's account who recently passed away and whose email address and password I'd changed while she was hospitalized.

I'll post the feedback I get from the programmers.

Bob
