Unfortunatly the "herd" mentality has become a problem for the other racial, and ethnic, groups. I would, and have, said that they are sheep, but saw this mentality illustrated to me about 10 years ago in New Mexico. I'm sure you know what a cattle guard in a road looks like. A ditch across the road is dug, in line with the fence on either side, and steel tubes are laid, leaving a gap, that cows are afraid to cross, because their hooves might slip through the cracks, and injure them. On a long stretch of road in NM, the rancher had just painted something the, roughly, looked like the real things, and none of the cattle ever crossed them. He told me, that not one steer, cow, or bull, had the initiative to "check it out", and go on it's merry way to freedom.
