That wasn't what you said in message #43555 when you counted up the number of DDR chipsets coming out. When you find the post with the article about Micron canceling Samurai, you'll also see that it says that the vendors seem to not trust Ali (a quality problem?) and that one of the other vendors (SIS, I think, without looking back at the article) won't have chipsets until 1H2001 (a delay from the schedule you posted).

So it's not just Micron that is potentially out of the game. I would agree that VIA is the key player, so we'll have to see what happens from here with them. Given that a portion of the Intel lawsuit has been dropped, we'll have to wait and see exactly what was negotiated.
