Hellooo- YOu are lucky to have MJ-

Dan goes to the grocery store for me on Sundays during the school year- he knows how I hate it. But sometimes it's unavoidable, since I am the mommy.

Do you know what I do when I go-? I play this stupid mental game with myself-
I have the task all divided into a pie chart in my head- (make the list, get in the car, drive to store- that's the first quarter-- then the 2nd quarter is filling the basket, then the 3rd is standing in line and paying and getting it to the car, and the last is getting it home and unloading).

Then I subdivide the 1/4s into even smaller tasks until I have them into so many that I am always accomplishing something. ANd I reward myself - like the halfway mark- getting inline- I allow myself to read the National Inquirer's front page. When I get home, I give myself a box of wine.

But NOW I am drinking a glass of chardonnay and we are rearranging books. This is one of my most favorite things to do in the world, even though it usually sets off an allergy attack which makes me wonder just what Barb is doing with the feather dustthing she spends hours waving around my house. Maybe practicing some kind of Gypsy Rose Lee number. Maybe she has a night job I know nothing about.

Myers ADORES Barb and follows her around trying to catch the dustthing. I suppose it looks like a mutant fluorescent pink bird on a leash to him.
And we do know how much Myers loves birds, don't we.
At Least the dustiething doesn't bleed when caught.

Sometimes he wanders around the house carrying a pink feather in his mouth. Like sure, Myers, we believe you caught and ate the pink mutant bird, you wild animal you.

Anyway- we bought another bookcase- only we've run out of room in the study, and in the bedrooms, so we had to put it in the living room, where it looks BAD, but in a nicely academic and intellectually 'these people have no taste, but they must be smart- look at all these books' way. I told Dan that we had to put the biggest, fattest, smallestprintest books out there to impress people.

They seem to be the dustiest, though.

There's no dust on my Interpreting Dreams book. Or my Big Words to Impress People With book.

Do be careful drinking and pruning. Keep arms high.
There are some branches that do not thrive when trimmed.
