This irks me:
When Edwarda was sick, there were many, many folks expressing their deepest concerns, but now that something positive has been set up, 90% of them are no where to be found... It does not surprise me though knowing how people are in this world, but it still disappoints me...
It disappointed me, too, when I started a thread entitled, Are We Capable. I think I would remember your name of all of the six posts the thread received. Your's isn't one of them.
Since Edwarda's passing, I've spent considerable time thinking about her and about the stuff which has come about because of it. I decided I WOULD NOT contribute because I didn't care for what was being proposed as a memorial to her.
IMO, a fitting memorial to Edwarda would be a fund created for the sole purpose of helping others in times of crisis, others being members of SI. The Hunger Site was something she believed in, but it doesn't memorialize her. A theater group may have been something near and dear to her heart, but it doesn't memorialize my memory of her or why it was I enjoyed seeing her presence here so much.
Edwarda was known mostly because of SI, and the people of SI are the reason Edwarda was known and well thought of by quite a few. When something is thought of to honor Edwarda and her ideas, thoughts, and hopes for SI, then let me know. Otherwise, those of you who think, "but now that something positive has been set up, 90% of them are no where to be found...", think again.
