Ray, LOL! - I'm so used to corresponding with you on TLM thread that I assumed that's where I was.

Thus, my remark: 'I used the Wi-LAN/Cisco example because it is drawn from my limited experience on this board. It was not an attempted segue.'

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Welcome to the Wi-LAN thread.
Your question was well taken. The answer came from some excellent investigative work by Rob Verrier, over on the Stockhouse thread. I claim no credit for its discovery, but left out the attribution because it would have meant little on TLM.
Yeah, apparently the IEEE has discovered a departure from orthodoxy. One wonders, what is the subtext here?
I've never seen such an openly punitive exchange before. I'm sure that's just a reflection of my inexperience; it can't be the first time the IEEE has had an errant sheep in the flock.
Still, the matter is only marginally relevant to Wi-LAN, in the sense that it is a matter between Cisco and the IEEE. I sure would like to know what is motivating Cisco, WRT this open flouting of the IEEE's governance.
Best regards,
Jim
