Hi Bill:

Since you have indicate you have studied VDSL
technology in depth, I would like to direct your
attention to a computation of VDSL capacity
(based on Shannon's formula for the capacity of
an additive Gaussian channel)in Walter Chen's
DSL book. On p. 580, it is stated that the channel
capacity for 6dB performance margin transmission
for 1.5kft, 3kft and 4.5kft using 24 gauge
twisted pair loops is 108Mbps, 44Mbps and 18Mbps,
respectively for a transmission bandwidth of
less than 30MHz.

As you can see, NVEI's claims violate this bound.
So, something does not add up here.

Best regards,

Bernard Levy
