3 pages of socket A motherboards, 6 pages of Durons! This is what I like to see! Forward guidence in the CC should be good! Despite having marde the 1.8 million athlon ship target, I'm sure that inventory has gone up. (lack of motherboards prevented big unit volume upside) Motherboard support was the last big risk factor, and the release of Durons shows that AMD is confident about supply. Had motherboard supply remained tight, AMD would have held the Durons back so that the more profitable Tbirds could have used them.
PS- Paul, you're bashing Gateway now, why? We are all here with a common purpose, to make money, and if you could convince me that Intel was a good investment, I'd buy, and be all thanks. But Intel's valuation is very high, P/E and PEG wise. Why don't you deal with the real investment issues, instead of beating around the AMD bush, so to speak? If you had new money to invest, would you really invest it in Intel rather than AMD? |
