Jon, Michael, et.al.: That call center application you mention is already being tried by some folks, albeit in a limited sense. So you've got it right. And take it a step further. Think about the reduction is sales/marketing office requirements a corporation encounters in your fully "deployed" home-based scenario, eh? All aspects of reduced real estate requirements can(or should) send corporate "bean counters" into fits of financial ecstasy. Indeed, even technical support forces can be dispersed, too.
'Course....in thinking about this a wee bit it does, also, change certain other landscapes, doesn't it? How so? How about taxes, for one. Will the employee get the benefits of using some portion of their home for work? Hmmmmmm......
The only thing limiting the possibilities in this area, that I can see, are those certain human, managerial, aspects. You know.....the ones who might be of the attitude of "how can they be managed if they ain't under the same roof with me?" I'd like to think that's a mind-set which will gradually die off as folks grow use to the idea.
Michael: I agree with your ASP idea. Pssst....side-bar, you might want to look at DataLink, Inc.(DLK). They're a very intriguing play in this birthing area known as wireless ASP's.
Now let's see how WSTL does this week.
