Here is what AMD should announce on Wed

1. Great earnings in Q2 and looking forward into FY01.

2. A cash tender offer for 10% of their outstanding shares at $135/share. In a sense doing a buy-out of 10% of the comapny at $135.

Option 2, will screw the shorts and increase shareholder value in the short term and in the longer term (by dreasing outstanding shares).

If the stock price stays stagnant, then announce an open market share repurchase program for another 5% of outstanding shares.

Any thoughts?
