Steven, you know what's interesting? The emotionally strong level of denial you and some others here would attribute to that piece. I wasn't there, and neither were you, so I am not about to claim one version of events is correct and another is incorrect. On the other hand, you appear to have completely accepted the mostly benign point of view as fact, and discounted the other as total hyperbole.

In the article you sight, (which I had to go out of my way to look up since X is on ignore) the opening paragraph states the following:
My information here is a based on a number of sources, primarily Margot Ables, one of the presenters of the workshops in question. It is also based on my own research and knowledge of the political right in Massachusetts, HIV/AIDS education, effective prevention programs, and Gay Straight Alliances. Although I ordered the tape of this workshop, as offered in the email version of this article, it has not yet arrived. Because of this I am as of yet unable to provide a transcript of the workshop (and until legal questions about the copyright, distribution and confidentiality questions are answered, I will not personally provide that transcript.) I stand by the facts as presented here insofar as I have been able to discover them.
Interesting, she wasn't there either and appears to have taken the word of one person. That person being a presenter of the workshop. Now, lets just say for the sake of argument that the article I cited was correct. Would a presenter give a non biased and balanced view of events after the controversy had ensured? C'mon! Get real here Steven!
You may be surprised I would associate myself with such an article. But I am also surprised you would claim a "truth" so effortlessly without knowing or seeing any real evidence.
Furthermore, the ONLY reason I posted that article was to demonstrate how a shocking sexual event involving teenage chidren and the classroom could have taken place while no one on this board would have heard about it. And although the classroom wasn't where the event took place, it clearly involved children and our educational system. They may not have funded it, but they surely supported it.
So my point has been made with crystal clarity.
Therefore, the event Vince described could have happened just as he says he heard it, and we all could have remained completely ignorant about it. But the real point isn't whether it happened or not, the real point is that Vince's integrity shouldn't be impugned because of a memory. And no matter what kind of sophistic language some of the posters want to claim in their defense. His personal integrity was clearly challenged over the issue.
Personally, my response to Vince would go something like this... I don't doubt you heard what you heard on the radio, but I would have to see more evidence to believe it actually happened.
Instead, what kind of response did we actually see?
